Who Will Fish Tomorrow?

A fishing harbour at first light, weathered sheds reflected in still water.

At first light the wharf is already awake:

  • engines coughing
  • ice rattling
  • someone laughing at nothing

Fishing is a trade learned on deck, handed down like a coat.

But a boat needs a crew, a crew needs a living, and a living needs a harbour that still has room for working people.

We love the postcard: the painted sheds, the gulls on the pilings, the reflections in still water.

Loving it is simply not enough.

The question is not whether the sea will provide, but whether we will keep a place for those willing to go out and get it.
